We all know that when Thanksgiving comes around, it’s time for turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and numerous other foods. But what does Thanksgiving really mean? I’ve heard many outrageous claims to what Thanksgiving is how it came about, none of them even being close to the truth. In 1610, the settlers of Jamestown, Virginia celebrated a day of thanks for 3 days. They spent the days having a feast and thinking God for their safe passage to the New World. In 1621 at Plymouth Plantation, the settlers held a celebration for the great growing season that had resulted from the Wampanoag tribe’s help. A feast of food was created for 13 Pilgrims and 90 Indians. Thanks was given to God for his blessing of the amazing mass of food from their harvest.
Then in 1777, during the Revolutionary War, the Continental Congress issued a many days of thanksgiving over a few years. Their proclamation read as:
FOR AS MUCH as it is the indispensable Duty of all Men to adore the superintending Providence of Almighty God; to acknowledge with Gratitude their Obligation to him for Benefits received, and to implore such farther Blessings as they stand in Need of: And it having pleased him in his abundant Mercy, not only to continue to us the innumerable Bounties of his common Providence; but also to smile upon us in the Prosecution of a just and necessary War, for the Defense and Establishment of our unalienable Rights and Liberties; particularly in that he hath been pleased, in so great a Measure, to prosper the Means used for the Support of our Troops, and to crown our Arms with most signal success:
It is therefore recommended to the legislative or executive Powers of these UNITED STATES to set apart THURSDAY, the eighteenth Day of December next, for SOLEMN THANKSGIVING and PRAISE: That at one Time and with one Voice, the good People may express the grateful Feelings of their Hearts, and consecrate themselves to the Service of their Divine Benefactor; and that, together with their sincere Acknowledgments and Offerings, they may join the penitent Confession of their manifold Sins, whereby they had forfeited every Favor; and their humble and earnest Supplication that it may please GOD through the Merits of JESUS CHRIST, mercifully to forgive and blot them out of Remembrance; That it may please him graciously to afford his Blessing on the Governments of these States respectively, and prosper the public Council of the whole: To inspire our Commanders, both by Land and Sea, and all under them, with that Wisdom and Fortitude which may render them fit Instruments, under the Providence of Almighty GOD, to secure for these United States, the greatest of all human Blessings, INDEPENDENCE and PEACE: That it may please him, to prosper the Trade and Manufactures of the People, and the Labor of the Husbandman, that our Land may yield its Increase: To take Schools and Seminaries of Education, so necessary for cultivating the Principles of true Liberty, Virtue and Piety, under his nurturing Hand; and to prosper the Means of Religion, for the promotion and enlargement of that Kingdom, which consisteth “in Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost.
And it is further recommended, That servile Labor, and such Recreation, as, though at other Times innocent, may be unbecoming the Purpose of this Appointment, be omitted on so solemn an Occasion.
Then on October 8, 1789, then President George Washington issued a proclamation, creating the first Thanksgiving day by the federal government. It read as:
Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor, and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness. Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks, for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation, for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war, for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed, for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us. And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions, to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually, to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed, to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord. To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and Us, and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best. Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.
George Washington again proclaimed a Thanksgiving in 1795.
President John Adams declared Thanksgivings in 1798 and 1799. No Thanksgiving proclamations were issued by Thomas Jefferson but James Madison renewed the tradition in 1814, in response to resolutions of Congress, at the close of the War of 1812. Madison also declared the holiday twice in 1815; however, none of these was celebrated in autumn. In 1816, Governor Plumer of New Hampshire appointed Thursday, November 14 to be observed as a day of Public Thanksgiving and Governor Brooks of Massachusetts appointed Thursday, November 28 to be “observed throughout that State as a day of Thanksgiving.”
A thanksgiving day was annually appointed by the governor of New York from 1817. In some of the Southern states, there was opposition to the observance of such a day on the ground that it was a relic of Puritanic bigotry, but by 1858 proclamations appointing a day of thanksgiving were issued by the governors of 25 states and two territories.
In the middle of the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln, prompted by a series of editorials written by Sarah Josepha Hale, proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day, to be celebrated on the final Thursday in November 1863:
The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequalled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle, or the ship; the axe had enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years, with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and voice by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility and Union. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed. Done at the city of Washington, this third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the independence of the United States the eighty-eighth.” Proclamation of President Abraham Lincoln, October 3, 1863.
Since 1863, Thanksgiving has been observed annually in the United States. But as most holidays, it’s become another day off for people to east and forget what the holiday stands for. How many people actually give thanks on Thanksgiving day? How many people even know the history of Thanksgiving day and why it was created? Politics doesn’t fix the problems in America, learning who we are and where we came from will. We must reawakening of history in America today, and it must start with each and every one of us.
Although we should remember and honor those who sacrifice everything for us every day, we have days such as Veterans Day to especially honor those people. Men and women in the warmed forces who sacrifice everything for people that they don’t even know or will probably never meet. To those who are serving and have served, we thank you. We live in a time that the military seems to be condemned contentiously for their selfless act of defending our freedom. And in a time where Occupy is trying to recruit military veterans into a cause that goes against everything they fought for, we must honor them even more.
Veterans Day actually started out as Armistice Day with a proclamation from the Progressive President Woodrow Wilson, probably the only thing he did worth while in his time as President. Armistice Day, November 11, 1919, proclaiming the holiday, he said
“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations.”
The United States Congress passed a concurrent resolution seven years later on June 4, 1926, requesting that the President Calvin Coolidge issue another proclamation to observe November 11 with appropriate ceremonies. The original concept for the celebration was for a day observed with parades and public meetings and a brief suspension of business beginning at 11:00 a.m. The United States Congress officially recognized the end of World War I when it passed a concurrent resolution on June 4, 1926, with these words:
Whereas the 11th of November 1918, marked the cessation of the most destructive, sanguinary, and far reaching war in human annals and the resumption by the people of the United States of peaceful relations with other nations, which we hope may never again be severed, and
Whereas it is fitting that the recurring anniversary of this date should be commemorated with thanksgiving and prayer and exercises designed to perpetuate peace through good will and mutual understanding between nations; and
Whereas the legislatures of twenty-seven of our States have already declared November 11 to be a legal holiday: Therefore be it Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives concurring), that the President of the United States is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on November 11 and inviting the people of the United States to observe the day in schools and churches, or other suitable places, with appropriate ceremonies of friendly relations with all other peoples.
An Act (52 Stat. 351; 5 U. S. Code, Sec. 87a) approved May 13, 1938, made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday—a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as “Armistice Day.” Armistice Day was primarily a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after World War II had required the greatest mobilization of soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen in the Nation’s history; after American forces had fought aggression in Korea, the 83rd Congress, at the urging of the veterans service organizations, amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word “Armistice” and inserting in its place the word “Veterans.” With the approval of this legislation (Public Law 380) on June 1, 1954, November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.
Later that same year, on October 8th, President Dwight D. Eisenhower issued the first “Veterans Day Proclamation” which stated: “In order to insure proper and widespread observance of this anniversary, all veterans, all veterans’ organizations, and the entire citizenry will wish to join hands in the common purpose. Toward this end, I am designating the Administrator of Veterans’ Affairs as Chairman of a Veterans Day National Committee, which shall include such other persons as the Chairman may select, and which will coordinate at the national level necessary planning for the observance. I am also requesting the heads of all departments and agencies of the Executive branch of the Government to assist the National Committee in every way possible.”
On that same day, President Eisenhower sent a letter to the Honorable Harvey V. Higley, Administrator of Veterans’ Affairs (VA), designating him as Chairman of the Veterans Day National Committee.
In 1958, the White House advised VA’s General Counsel that the 1954 designation of the VA Administrator as Chairman of the Veterans Day National Committee applied to all subsequent VA Administrators. Since March 1989 when VA was elevated to a cabinet level department, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs has served as the committee’s chairman.
The Uniform Holiday Bill (Public Law 90-363 (82 Stat. 250) was signed on June 28, 1968, and was intended to ensure three-day weekends for Federal employees by celebrating four national holidays on Mondays: Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Columbus Day. It was thought that these extended weekends would encourage travel, recreational and cultural activities and stimulate greater industrial and commercial production. Many states did not agree with this decision and continued to celebrate the holidays on their original dates.
The first Veterans Day under the new law was observed with much confusion on October 25, 1971. It was quite apparent that the commemoration of this day was a matter of historic and patriotic significance to a great number of our citizens, and so on September 20th, 1975, President Gerald R. Ford signed Public Law 94-97 (89 Stat. 479), which returned the annual observance of Veterans Day to its original date of November 11, beginning in 1978. This action supported the desires of the overwhelming majority of state legislatures, all major veterans service organizations and the American people.
Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. The restoration of the observance of Veterans Day to November 11 not only preserves the historical significance of the date, but helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. So, not just this Veterans Day, but every day, thank a Veteran for their service, and buy them a meal, because they’ve given us so much that can never be repaid.
On September 17th, the same day as Constitution Day, the socialists revealed themselves to the American people. For the past 2 years, we’ve learned about the Progressive plan to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” Then in March 2011, the plan was revealed to America but due to the media’s either ignorance or total involvement, they failed to alert the American people. A former SEIU official, Steven Lerner, revealed the socialist plan to take over this country. The plan he set forth was to protest the banks and corporations by refusing to pay debts and to withdraw all their funds from banks to attempt to collapse the system.
Then on September 17th, an event that had been planed for months began, Occupy Wall Street. Thousands of college students, union members, and socialists went and camped out in front of Wall Street with cries of “We Are the 99%.” There goals, redistribution of wealth and a violent revolution if their demands aren’t met. We’ve recovered stories like one Northern Michigan University college professor giving her students to option to go to Occupy Wall Street or write a 20 page essay about a social movement for 20 extra credit points. The pictures of protestors showing their distaste for America and what it stands for. The picture of a man relieving himself on a cop car. The picture of a man relieving himself on a burning American flag. Of course the ironic thing is them using the very freedom to protest to try to change the country to a system that wouldn’t allow them to do that.
Many said we were crazy when we warned that this was going to happen, and those people are nowhere to be seen or heard from now. The deep connections of this movement are scary when you see the endorsers and the push by the organizers. In many of the videos, people talk like they’re reading straight from the Communist Manifesto while others have no idea what they’re there for or what the plan is. Others protest evil corporations with their iPhones, ironic and hypocritical.
First, the common sense that the protestors seem to miss. They are protesting and hate corporations yet the questions I ask them are as follows: Where did you get your phone? Is Facebook a corporation? Is twitter a corporation? Where did you get your clothes from? Where did you get your tent from? Do you drive a car? Where did you get your camera from? Where did you get your sign from? etc. That is the funny thing I see in all the videos is when they’re talking to the protestors and then you hear the interviewer go “Is that the new iPhone?”
Secondly, who is supporting, endorsing, and funding this movement? The common claim from the left is that the Tea Party is funded by the Koch Brothers, if true, I ask where my money is because I haven’t received a dime. But when big time politicians and organizations endorse and even fund the Occupy movement, there’s no out cry from the left. Supporters include President Obummer, Nancy Pelosi, George Soros, the Nazi Party, Iran, CAIR, and the Communist Party USA. Remember when Nancy Pelosi had her tear dropping press conference about how she had heard the scary rhetoric before when talking about the Tea Party? Also remember her claim that there were swastikas at the town hall meetings from Tea Parties? Haven’t seen any evidence of that at Tea Parties but I have seen swastikas at the Occupy events, even the Nazi Party itself is supporting the movement, so where’s the tear dropping press conference now Nancy?
Lastly, where do you stand? At the end of this blog, there will be a list of questions that I want you to ask yourself before you decide if you should or shouldn’t support Occupy. Don’t ask where people like Martin Luther King Jr. would stand, ask yourself where you would stand. Many have claimed that we’re being controlled by the media and don’t support Occupy because of them. I stopped watching all media, including Fox News, about a year ago. Then and even more so now, I would always base my decisions of something on what the facts were. I didn’t listen to anyone else, I would listen to the people’s own words, I would look into what plan they were pushing. I would do my own research and I urge you to do the same. We can not act like the useful idiots down at occupy who like to repeat every single word said by a speaker no matter what it is.

In the Republican Presidential Debate Thursday night, a certain candidate stated that if Iran wanted a nuke, then they could have one.
Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) would condemned both the United States and Israel to a nuclear attack is he were President. He claims that Iran simply wants it for their defense but apparently Ron Paul doesn’t understand what Iran means by the word “defense”. So, it’s time to not only educate Ron Paul, but his followers as well as to what Ron Paul would be doing if he were President.
“The main plot for this criminal act was conceived by the American government, and since it is scared of the reaction by the Muslim world due to the uprisings in the region, it had the Zionist regime commit the heinous act…we have no option but to have the Zionist regime wiped off the map.”
Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has claimed many times that he wants Israel wiped off the face of the map. He also believes in the 12th Imam and that only mass blood shed and chaos will bring about the 12th Imam faster. If Iran was given a nuke, with it’s President and top military leaders saying that Israel should be wiped off the face of the map, calling them the Little Satan and us the Big Satan, who exactly do you think they are going to use the nuke on. They do not want it for defense but rather to start a war and eliminate their enemies.
Many would claim that this would never happen on the premise of Mutually Assured Destruction that was used during the Cold War. But the radical musliums who wants both Israel and ourselves dead aren’t afraid to die. They believe that Allah is calling for them to die while killing infidels. If they are not afraid to strap a bomb to their chest and kill their own family members and call it a honor killing, then how can we feel safe knowing that they will have no reservations to launch that nuke at us. Iran has already reached a deal for a missile base in Venezuela and has stated that this is because if sanctions were placed upon them, they would see it as a declaration of war. Iran gets a nuke and we will have another situation much like we did with the Soviet Union during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
This also after a lawsuit has been filed by 9/11 victims families against Iran as evidence has come out that Iran was involved in the 9/11 attacks. If Iran was involved in a tragic attack like 9/11, just imagine what they could and would do with a nuke. We are dealing with people who mean it when they say that they are going to kill you. But Ron Paul and his followers fail to see the dangers of Iran getting a nuke. There are 3 major reasons radical muslims hate us, we have military in their area, we are allies with Israel, and the fact that their religion says to kill the infidels. This is why Ron Paul can not be President and shouldn’t even be in this country. He is willing to sacrifice our safety because he is ignorant of what Iran would do with a nuke. So to Ron Paul and his followers, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE TEA.
Today is day 5 of the Debt Ceiling Talks in Washington D.C. On day 3 of the talks, House Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) told the press that President Obama had walked out of the talks in a heated fashion.
“I suggested we were so far apart I didn’t see in the time before us how we get to where he wants us to be,” Cantor told reporters after the meeting.
Obama, in his typical affable and diplomatic manner, warned Cantor not to set such an ultimatum and threatened to veto any legislation that would extend the debt ceiling only for a short period.
“The president told me, ‘Eric, don’t call my bluff. I’m going to take this to the American people,’” Cantor said.
House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tried to defend Obama’s walk out by saying,
“He stayed for two and a half hours and listened to what members had to say. It was his meeting and the meeting had come to an end,” she said.
“The president could not have been more gracious. I have never seen a president spend so much time with the leadership of Congress day in and day out, respectful of their concerns,” Pelosi added.
Obviously it is quite humorous to watch the Democratic Party talk about needing to compromise when during the Health Care debate they held closed-door sessions and never considering any other plan but their own. The American people were ignored then just as they are being ignored now, and even the Republicans are ignoring them. House Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) was close to making a deal with the Democrats that would raise taxes when Rep. Eric Cantor started becoming more vocal on not raising taxes during the recession. All while White House Staffers received a 54% pay raise last year.
Meanwhile, President Obama continues to have press conference after press conference about how the American people are behind his plan to raise taxes.
“The bottom line is that this is not an issue of salesmanship to the American people, the American people are sold. The American people are sold, I just want to repeat this. … You have 80% of the American people who support a balanced approach. 80% of the American people support an approach that includes revenues and includes cuts. So, the notion that somehow the American people aren’t sold is not the problem. The problem is members of Congress are dug in ideologically into various positions because they boxed themselves in with previous statements. And, so this is not a matter of the American people knowing what the right thing to do is, it’s a matter of Congress doing the right thing and reflecting the will of the American people. And if we do that, we will have solved this problem.”
As it stands, the debt subject to the limit is at $14.291 trillion and gaining $114,058,080 every day. With that, the ceiling should be hit in 78 days. All of these numbers derived from the US Treasury.

But are the politicians talking about the real issue at hand when it comes to debt? We have a National Debt of $14.3 trillion but what is the number on the debt when it comes to household, business, local governments, state governments, financial institutions, federal government, and our unfunded liabilities? All of that combined comes out to around $168 trillion. With the federal government and unfunded liabilities alone it’s about $128 trillion. All of these numbers derived from the Federal Reserve.
Raising taxes is not the answer but as history has shown, lowering them while returning to a smaller government is the answer. We became the richest nation on earth because of that plan and now we have a President and Congress who are doing everything they can to take us back from that proven idea. People continue to complain about how big business CEO’s are keeping their money rather than investing it. When you have an economy that is very weak and uncertain, a government that regulates like nobody else, and taxes that can kill a business, you wouldn’t invest your money either because you have no idea if you will even survive to tomorrow. Meanwhile, 12 corporations pay effective tax rates of negative 1.5% on $171 billion in profits; reap $62.4 billion in tax subsidies. Those 12 corporations are GE, American Electric Power, Dupont, Verizon, Boeing, Wells Fargo, FedEx, Honeywell International, IBM, Yahoo, United Technologies, and Exxon Mobil. This from a study done by the Citizens for Tax Justice. And Wells Fargo received $25 billion in taxpayer bailouts.
Yet we have both parties saying that we need to compromise on a problem that both of them caused. Why is it that we allow the problem makers try to solve the problem just so that they can create more problems? And of course they won’t listen to the people because then they wouldn’t get the perks that they get now. Call your Representative and Senators and tell them that the American people do not want a compromise, that we don’t want the debt ceiling raised, that we want real cuts to spending and taxes. Tell them to look to the founding fathers and the long-standing history of how capitalism and the free market system have worked and made this country great. Tell them to WAKE UP AND SMELL THE TEA.
This past weekend, we saw the beginning of what is being deemed as “The Arab Spring.” Israeli soldiers had to defend their border from an onslaught of Palestinian riots from the West Bank, Gaza, Syria, and Jordan. All of these riots starting on the anniversary of Israel’s Declaration of Independence in 1948. Thousands of Palestinians with bandannas on their faces and carrying Palestinian flags charged the borders of Israel. Israeli soldiers fired off tear gas towards the rioters and fired only when absolutely necessary. Reports indicate that about 15 people were killed while hundreds were injured. All of this going on while many Arab countries are facing riots from citizens who are organizing under the title of “democracy.” Reports indicate that these riots also shadowed people who truly were trying to gain entry into Israel so that they may live in peace rather than the unstable countries they live in.
Now the question is, if Israel is as bad as the radicals say, why are Palestinian people trying to gain entry to live there? Simple, Israel isn’t what they say it is. In a recent poll done in Jerusalem, where Muslims take care of the Muslim sites, Jews take care of the Jewish sites, and Christians take care of the Christian sites, about 80% of Arabs said that they wanted to stay under Israeli rule over Arab rule. Why is this? Because Arabs, Jews, and Christians live in unity in Jerusalem. They are all able to practice religious freedom and not be persecuted for their views but rather respected for them.
But, what is it that the radicals and terrorist are pushing for? What solution do they call for so that “peace” may be achieved? A two state solution is exactly what is being called for now. Under a two state solution, Israel would draw the lines of Israel back to the pre-1967 borders. Hamas leader Khaled Meshal calls for a two state solution but refuses to call for an end of the violence toward Israel and won’t indicate if a two state solution would end the conflict. Under Palestinian rule, religious monuments such as the garden tomb, the tomb the Catholics and the Greek Orthodox say was the tomb in Golgotha, the nativity scene, the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, the temple mount, the Wailing Wall. You’ll not be able to see any of it. Just ask the Taliban how well they maintained the giant Buddha statues. History would be erased from the area under a two state solution.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had talks with Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez to place a missile launch site in Venezuela. Ahmadinejad is doing this because he says that if sanctions are placed upon Iran, then Iran will strike their enemy. With the United States being the leader for sanctions against Iran, we are that enemy. History is repeating itself. This is the modern-day “Cuban Missile Crisis.” Iran is ready to bring back what they call the Twelfth Imam, and they believe the only way to do that is through bloodshed. Israel is fighting a people who are not afraid to die for their beliefs, so we can’t merely stand on the premise of mutually assured destruction as we did with the Soviet Union. So what can we do?
We have to stand with Israel and proclaim to the world that we are backing them all the way. Israel is the front-lines for freedom; if they fall then we fall. That is why they call us the Big Satan and Israel the Little Satan; they hold us hand in hand. Whatever they do to one, they will do to the other. A reason Israel has lasted so long when they are surrounded by enemies is because the enemies have been busy fighting each other. But with the recent rise up of revolutions, the Muslim Brotherhood and those who think like them are taking over and soon it will be a unified force against Israel. We cannot let Israel stand alone. For some, there are biblical reasons for standing with Israel, for others it is the sheer thought that Israel means freedom and liberty for all, much like the United States. If we do not stand now, how will history look at us when both Israel and the United States fall to totalitarian control? Will we be Americans and honor our history of winning the lost cause, or will simply bow down and be slapped around like the wimps we have become? Only you can answer those questions. Many have already answered and are taking action to stand with Israel. So will you stand as well?
