Arizona vs. Mexico

Today it came out that along with the DOJ’s possible lawsuit against the Arizona Immigration Law, now Mexico is filing a lawsuit as well. Mexico is claiming that the law, “it has a legitimate interest in defending its citizens’ rights and that Arizona’s law would lead to racial profiling, hinder trade and tourism, and strain the countries’ work on combating drug trafficking and related violence.”

Mexican law requires law enforcement officials “to demand that foreigners prove their legal presence in the country before attending to any issues.” And before 2008, some officers would seek bribes to keep people out of jail. Yet they claim the Arizona law will lead to racial profiling. The lawsuit also says that, “”Mexican citizens will be afraid to visit Arizona for work or pleasure out of concern that they will be subject to unlawful police scrutiny and detention.”

Arizona’s law reads much like the federal law and Mexico’s, which is more strict. But just like the day that Mexican President Felipe Calderon had a joint session of OUR Congress, no one in DC stands up for Arizona. Many states are in support of Arizona’s new law and are looking to have similar legislation in their states.

Governor Jan Brewer is fighting on not just against the Federal Government but now against a Foreign one. But both fail to see the fleeing of the illegal immigrants after the law was passed. Both fail to look in the dictionary at the word ILLEGAL.

For over 100 years our Federal Government has done illegal acts and now once again they are doing. They have done it for so long that they see nothing wrong with it. But illegal is illegal, no matter how long you’ve done it. But if you wish to continue, I’m sure we can get you a prize. A nice room with bars, free cable, and 3 meals a day.
