Crazies Making The Case

Today we watched as the Obama Administration used the opportunity of the horrific attack in Newtown, Connecticut to bring the topic of gun control to the front pages when the debt crisis is about to hit Congress. We saw Obama giving his Executive Actions with the back drop of 4 children who had written to the President about gun control, as if they understood it. But that’s not what became the story of the day. The story of the day came from the Anarchists, Conspiracy Theorist, and those who take distrusting the government too far. After Obama gave 23 Executive Actions ranging from Health Care to Gun Control, these crazies could be found panicking and yelling frantically they we had reached the Orwellian Society and that we should all bunker down and get ready for war. Now, just to state it so someone doesn’t ask, there is a BIG difference between these people and Tea Party. The main difference, the Tea Party understands and supports a Federal Government as it was outlined in the Constitution while these crazies of the day think that we could do just fine without a Federal Government.

The following are the 23 Executive Actions that were announced today

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.
2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.
3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.
4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.
5. Propose rule making to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.
6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.
7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.
8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).
9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.
10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.
11. Nominate an ATF director.
12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.
13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.
14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.
15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies
16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.
17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.
18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.
19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.
20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.
21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.
22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.
23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

Many of these Executive Actions announced are already law. Executive Actions are simply the President telling his Departments what he would like to see written up for an Executive Order which then goes as a suggestion to Congress on what kind of law the President would like to see or the Order can be that, an order to one of the Departments. Take for instance # 16 “Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.” That’s already a law that has been in effect since 1976 when the Supreme Court of California decided in Tarasoff v. Board of Regents of the University of California that physicians were legally obligated to break confidentiality to report a patient that made a threat or they felt was a threat to themselves or others.

These Executive Actions are essentially memos to the Executive Order writers on what the President wants to written up to issue to his Departments and what he wants written up to suggest to Congress. But we have the crazies who have come out screaming bloody murder today. These are the people who are taking this all out of context and have no clue what terms like Executive Order and Executive Actions mean. My theory on all of this, the President and the Progressives where looking for this exact response from the crazies. Why try to make the same case for gun control that hasn’t worked for over 100 years when you can have the crazies on the opposing side make the case for you? These crazies have already made it clear that any attempt on them will be met with blood shed and that they will not hold back.

Now while I share their view that anyone trying to take my gun will be met with resistance, I do not follow their same logic behind this. My logic stems from the fact that any weapon I have is a defensive weapon that will only be used in life threatening situations or when I want to go get some dinner the old-fashioned way. The crazies logic is that everyone is out to get them and so they must be on the offense and take out in threat within a 300 yard radius. The crazies believe that the soul purpose of the Police Force and Military is to hold them back. My logic is that many of the Police and Military will honor their sacred Oath to Support and Defend the Constitution. We can not allow these crazies to be the faces on this issue because they will lose the battle and they do not stand for the same thing we do. When we have discussions and debates, it’s not for those who are already solid in their position but rather for those who are still on the fence or those who can be swayed to one side or the other. If we allow these crazies to be the defense for the 2nd Amendment, we will lose the battle because even those of us who support the 2nd Amendment and the rights of a free people know these people are crazy. We can not react to nothing as these crazies have done and we must continue what we’ve done over the past 5 years, educate and inform people to the truth and not these fringe groups.

Why We Give Thanks

We all know that when Thanksgiving comes around, it’s time for turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and numerous other foods. But what does Thanksgiving really mean? I’ve heard many outrageous claims to what Thanksgiving is how it came about, none of them even being close to the truth. In 1610, the settlers of Jamestown, Virginia celebrated a day of thanks for 3 days. They spent the days having a feast and thanking God for their safe passage to the New World. In 1621 at Plymouth Plantation, the settlers held a celebration for the great growing season that had resulted from the Wampanoag tribe’s help. A feast of food was created for 13 Pilgrims and 90 Indians. Thanks was given to God for his blessing of the amazing mass of food from their harvest.

Then in 1777, during the Revolutionary War, the Continental Congress issued a many days of thanksgiving over a few years. Their proclamation read as:

FOR AS MUCH as it is the indispensable Duty of all Men to adore the superintending Providence of Almighty God; to acknowledge with Gratitude their Obligation to him for Benefits received, and to implore such farther Blessings as they stand in Need of: And it having pleased him in his abundant Mercy, not only to continue to us the innumerable Bounties of his common Providence; but also to smile upon us in the Prosecution of a just and necessary War, for the Defense and Establishment of our unalienable Rights and Liberties; particularly in that he hath been pleased, in so great a Measure, to prosper the Means used for the Support of our Troops, and to crown our Arms with most signal success:

It is therefore recommended to the legislative or executive Powers of these UNITED STATES to set apart THURSDAY, the eighteenth Day of December next, for SOLEMN THANKSGIVING and PRAISE: That at one Time and with one Voice, the good People may express the grateful Feelings of their Hearts, and consecrate themselves to the Service of their Divine Benefactor; and that, together with their sincere Acknowledgments and Offerings, they may join the penitent Confession of their manifold Sins, whereby they had forfeited every Favor; and their humble and earnest Supplication that it may please GOD through the Merits of JESUS CHRIST, mercifully to forgive and blot them out of Remembrance; That it may please him graciously to afford his Blessing on the Governments of these States respectively, and prosper the public Council of the whole: To inspire our Commanders, both by Land and Sea, and all under them, with that Wisdom and Fortitude which may render them fit Instruments, under the Providence of Almighty GOD, to secure for these United States, the greatest of all human Blessings, INDEPENDENCE and PEACE: That it may please him, to prosper the Trade and Manufactures of the People, and the Labor of the Husbandman, that our Land may yield its Increase: To take Schools and Seminaries of Education, so necessary for cultivating the Principles of true Liberty, Virtue and Piety, under his nurturing Hand; and to prosper the Means of Religion, for the promotion and enlargement of that Kingdom, which consisteth “in Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost.

And it is further recommended, That servile Labor, and such Recreation, as, though at other Times innocent, may be unbecoming the Purpose of this Appointment, be omitted on so solemn an Occasion.

Then on October 8, 1789, then President George Washington issued a proclamation, creating the first Thanksgiving day by the federal government. It read as:

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor, and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness. Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks, for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation, for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war, for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed, for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us. And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions, to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually, to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed, to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord. To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and Us, and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best. Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

George Washington again proclaimed a Thanksgiving in 1795.

President John Adams declared Thanksgivings in 1798 and 1799. No Thanksgiving proclamations were issued by Thomas Jefferson but James Madison renewed the tradition in 1814, in response to resolutions of Congress, at the close of the War of 1812. Madison also declared the holiday twice in 1815; however, none of these was celebrated in autumn. In 1816, Governor Plumer of New Hampshire appointed Thursday, November 14 to be observed as a day of Public Thanksgiving and Governor Brooks of Massachusetts appointed Thursday, November 28 to be “observed throughout that State as a day of Thanksgiving.”

A thanksgiving day was annually appointed by the governor of New York from 1817. In some of the Southern states, there was opposition to the observance of such a day on the ground that it was a relic of Puritanic bigotry, but by 1858 proclamations appointing a day of thanksgiving were issued by the governors of 25 states and two territories.

In the middle of the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln, prompted by a series of editorials written by Sarah Josepha Hale, proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day, to be celebrated on the final Thursday in November 1863:

The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequalled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle, or the ship; the axe had enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. Population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege and the battle-field; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years, with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and voice by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility and Union. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed. Done at the city of Washington, this third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the independence of the United States the eighty-eighth.” Proclamation of President Abraham Lincoln, October 3, 1863.

Since 1863, Thanksgiving has been observed annually in the United States. But as most holidays, it’s become another day off for people to east and forget what the holiday stands for. How many people actually give thanks on Thanksgiving day? How many people even know the history of Thanksgiving day and why it was created? Politics doesn’t fix the problems in America, learning who we are and where we came from will. We must reawakening of history in America today, and it must start with each and every one of us.

For those who don’t believe that faith was and still is an integral part of our country, they need to look at the founding of the country and the men and documents that created it. Divine Providence, God, Jesus, and many other references our made throughout our history in official documents, lawful documents. It is for this very reason they we can look past the politics and know that there is a bigger picture and a bigger plan then just one election or one political society. There is much more, and that is something to be truly thankful for.

The Next 4 Years

“THESE are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.” -Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, December 23, 1776

Thomas Paine wrote these words on a drum head. It was the harsh winter of 1776. He was fighting alongside George Washington and other brave Americans. But the Revolution was going badly. The British were winning battle after battle, pushing the American force back farther and farther. The time to server that the American forces had signed up for was coming to and end. Soldiers were deserting because of the lack of equipment. A trail of blood stained snow could be seen following these troops as many had no shoes in the freezing snow. They were losing hope and were in need of some encouragement and a big victory. Thomas Paine knew this, and so he asked for the drummer’s drum and began to write. When he was done, he found a messenger and he told him to ride to and get this printed immediately. These words were spread across the country, read by millions of American who were fighting and others in their homes. Three days later, Washington and his troops crossed the Delaware River to take on the Hessians, German Mercenaries who were an equivalent of our Navy Seals. With this surprise attack, America had its first major victory and from that point, America changed the direction of the Revolution.

Last night I sat in awe as I watched my country was turning into something that it had fought against for centuries. Over the past 4 years we’ve worked so hard to wake people up, and millions have. But free stuff beat out freedom last night. Rather then getting your own fish, Progressives voted to steal that fish from someone else. I spent last night praying that we’ve been wrong, that things will not turn out as bad as we’re predicting. But I know that this mans actions and words say otherwise. We all know what is coming, Obama has told us what is coming time and time again. He told Russia that he would have more flexibility to do what he wanted after this election. And he does, without the worry of re-election, Obama can do whatever he wants and doesn’t have to worry about public opinion, not like he’s ever cared about it before.
But given all of that, I’ve tried hard today to see the bright things. I’ve looked at Thomas Paine’s words and how he said that Heaven will set the price for something so high as Freedom. Yes, Obama’s win and what it means for the next 4 years is depressing. And yes the fact that the dollar’s value fell dramatically after the election is depressing. We’re nearing an economic and financial cliff, it’s estimated that another $5 Trillion will be added to the debt over the next 4 years which will put us the same exact place Greece was when its financial crisis started. Our enemies will become our allies while our allies, Israel and England, will become our enemies. But our country was not founded on these things. Our country was not founded based on a numerical number of money or on who our allies were. It was created based on principles of Life, Liberty, and Property. It’s more than a country, a piece of land. It is a Constitution, it is ideals. We can not lose those.

We’ve survived 4 years of Obama by sticking to these principles and ideals. The next 4 years will be harder, but that just means that we have to hold on tighter and pray harder. To steal a phrase from Glenn Beck on the Glenn Beck Radio Program today, “God’s about a bigger picture than an election or a candidate. God is about the freedom of mankind. God is about the Constitution, which is a divinely inspired.” The plan is larger than an election or a candidate, we didn’t wake up and get involved because of an election or a candidate. We woke up because we saw something changing in the ideals and principles of this country.

The media is claiming a mandate election, course what do you expect from those who openly help campaign for Obama. This is odd considering Obama won by fewer Electoral and Popular votes then in 2008. In fact, as it stand right now, the reports are that only 117 million people voted this election when 131 million voted in 2008. And from what I can tell, those extra 20 million votes were in Obama’s direction last election. That means Obama couldn’t even get 20 million people who voted for him in 2008. We don’t know their reasons, maybe SEIU didn’t offer them enough money to go vote, but whatever it is, they didn’t. Sadly, these same people could have gone out and voted Romney if they were discouraged by Obama’s past 4 years.

Another thing I’ve had to address today is Ron Paul and Gary Johnson supporters. I’ve seen them all saying, “You had a chance to pick a real candidate to save America, now enjoy the next 4 years of consequences.” Ron Paul and Gary Johnson supporters are just fine with letting the system collapse, in fact they think it will save America by pressing the reset button, but it won’t. The people in charge right now would only come out on top and with more power through a collapse. My response to these people has been this, “You also had a choice to pick a candidate for President that could turn things around. But instead you chose to sit around and whine. And heads up, you also will live through the next 4 years of hell.”

In House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) response to Obama’s re-election, he made the statement that, “For purposes of forging a bipartisan agreement that begins to solve the problem, we’re willing to accept new revenue, under the right conditions. What matters is where the increased revenue comes from and what type of reform comes from it.” And so as we’ve known all along, the GOP establishment is ready to sell out the American people. It is even more important to put pressure on the GOP and all of DC. It is more important now to stand up and educate people as to what America truly is. We can not stop now, just because Obama has been re-elected. We knew that no matter who was elected, that we’d still have to watch, educate, and be informed. The only way to survive what is coming is to stick to our ideals and to stay together. You are not alone. We will make it through this, America will look different on the other side, but we will make it through together. United We Stand, Divided We Fall.

Just Another Lie

Firstly, yes, the Tea Revolution is back. After nearly a year of inactivity, I have returned. I took some time off because the things I was reading and seeing every day were beginning to just be too much. But with many things happening right now, including American deaths, I am back.

Now, before we get into the details of what has happened over the past 4 days, I’d like to first send out our thoughts and prayers to the families of U.S. ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, an Air Force veteran, Glen A. Doherty, a former Navy SEAL, and Tyrone S. Woods, also a former Navy SEAL. These men were murdered in an attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya on the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. They were murdered under the guise of an offensive video on YouTube. At least this is what the Islamists and their Progressive counterparts here in the U.S. would have you believe. On August 30th, Jamaa Islamiya, a State Department-designated terrorist group, announced that they were going to protest the ongoing imprisonment of its spiritual leader, Sheikh Omar abdel Rahman, who is serving a life sentence in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, outside the Cairo, Egypt Embassy. Then on September 8th, the anti-Islamist YouTube video was played on Egyptian news networks, a full 3 days before these attacks on U.S. Embassies. Now if the video is the reason for the attacks, why did it take Islamist a full 3 days to get offended?

The video in question, is a horrible video. It’s poor quality, poor tastes, just poor everything. So this begs the next question, why is it we haven’t heard of Mormons burning down Broadway over “The Book of Mormon” play that is quite offensive to Mormons? Why is it we haven’t heard of Catholics burning down Hollywood over the “Davinci Code” movies which are offensive to Catholics? Because they’re not full of themselves nor do they have a plan for world domination. Many experts are coming out now that these attacks are really part of a 10 year plan to make slandering Islam an international criminal offense. Egyptian President Morsi has even come out urging the U.S. to take all legal action against the video makers. And the Obama Administration has pushed YouTube to review the anti-Islamic video. The Islamist believe that if they use this video as an excuse, that U.S. lawmakers will jump to action to make it a criminal offense to “slander” Islam because it would be “in the best interest” of the U.S. to do so. They are setting the precedence that if someone says anything or does anything that doesn’t fit the Islamic ideals, they will kill Americans and scare us into submission.

Now if you remember right, it was President Obama who decided to go into Libya and help overthrow the Dictator Gaddafi. All of this under the guise of Democracy, which means Sharia Law. And remember, President Obama claimed that the Libyan people asked for our help and were calling for our help. So we go in and help take out Gaddafi. Now they’re under the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood and next thing you know, the very same people who we fought alongside of are now tearing down the gates of our embassy. Many of these people being confirmed Muslim Brotherhood agents. Pictures show protesters even wearing the symbol of Anonymous and Occupy, the Guy Fawkes mask.

So now the fire has spread. In Tunisia, black smoke was seen rising above the U.S. Embassy and protesters were seen throwing rocks at the Embassy and Police who were attempting to keep the protesters back. In Sudan, protesters broke into the German Embassy setting it on fire, claiming they were doing it because of “anti-Islamic graffiti found on mosques in Berlin.” In Lebanon 1 protester was killed in clashes with security forces, after a crowd of protesters set fire to a KFC and an Arby’s restaurant. Protesters hurled stones and glass at police in a furious melee that left 25 people wounded, 18 of them police. In Israel police stopped a crowd of around 400 Palestinians from marching on the U.S. consulate to protest the film. Demonstrators threw bottles and stones at police, who responded by firing stun grenades. Four protesters were arrested. In Malaysia very few protesters have shown up but they are chanting and passing out pamphlets asking for the film makers to be punished. In Indonesia  350 Muslims showed up to hold an anti-U.S. rally today in Jakarta. The overall sentiment was anger over the film and claims that its creation was a “declaration of war.” In India 15,000 protesters gathered to protest against the video — supposedly the largest of any other protest thus far. Additional protests were reported in Jalalabad, Afghanistan; Islamabad, Pakistan; Bangladesh; Istanbul, Turkey; Lebanon; the West Bank and Gaza; Kuwait; Bahrain; Syria; Iran; and outside the U.S. Embassy in London, where around 120 demonstrators burned American and Israeli flags.

We told you a year ago that this was coming. That the caliphate was being formed for the very purpose of setting the not just the Middle East, but the Western way of life on fire. Today, multiple bomb threats were called into colleges and city municipalities, most turning out to be nothing while others actually turned up some suspicious packages, and even a bomb sniffing dog detecting explosives outside a Missouri Federal building.

Then today, the White House made its stance clear. Jim Carney, Press Secretary, came out for his daily press conference and showed just how smart the White House is.

These protests have nothing to do with the video, we’ve shown you that already. Back during President Jefferson’s day as President, he sent diplomats over to the Middle East. These diplomats were killed by Islamist. Jefferson was baffled, why would a people we’ve never interacted with our ever even dealt with kill our people. The answer he got was that these Islamist believed that if they were killed while killing an Infidel, they would go to “heaven”. It all goes back to the fundamentals of Islam that we’ve shown you time and time again. It’s time to wake up and see what’s really going on.

Do you give thanks on Thanksgiving?

We all know that when Thanksgiving comes around, it’s time for turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and numerous other foods. But what does Thanksgiving really mean?

A Day to Honor, Veterans Day

Although we should remember and honor those who sacrifice everything for us every day, we have days such as Veterans Day to especially honor those people. Men and women in the warmed forces who sacrifice everything for people that they don’t even know or will probably never meet. To those who are serving and have served, we thank you. We live in a time that the military seems to be condemned contentiously for their selfless act of defending our freedom. And in a time where Occupy is trying to recruit military veterans into a cause that goes against everything they fought for, we must honor them even more.

Veterans Day actually started out as Armistice Day with a proclamation from the Progressive President Woodrow Wilson, probably the only thing he did worth while in his time as President. Armistice Day, November 11, 1919, proclaiming the holiday, he said

“To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations.”

The United States Congress passed a concurrent resolution seven years later on June 4, 1926, requesting that the President Calvin Coolidge issue another proclamation to observe November 11 with appropriate ceremonies. The original concept for the celebration was for a day observed with parades and public meetings and a brief suspension of business beginning at 11:00 a.m. The United States Congress officially recognized the end of World War I when it passed a concurrent resolution on June 4, 1926, with these words:

Whereas the 11th of November 1918, marked the cessation of the most destructive, sanguinary, and far reaching war in human annals and the resumption by the people of the United States of peaceful relations with other nations, which we hope may never again be severed, and

Whereas it is fitting that the recurring anniversary of this date should be commemorated with thanksgiving and prayer and exercises designed to perpetuate peace through good will and mutual understanding between nations; and

Whereas the legislatures of twenty-seven of our States have already declared November 11 to be a legal holiday: Therefore be it Resolved by the Senate (the House of Representatives concurring), that the President of the United States is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the officials to display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings on November 11 and inviting the people of the United States to observe the day in schools and churches, or other suitable places, with appropriate ceremonies of friendly relations with all other peoples.

An Act (52 Stat. 351; 5 U. S. Code, Sec. 87a) approved May 13, 1938, made the 11th of November in each year a legal holiday—a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as “Armistice Day.” Armistice Day was primarily a day set aside to honor veterans of World War I, but in 1954, after World War II had required the greatest mobilization of soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen in the Nation’s history; after American forces had fought aggression in Korea, the 83rd Congress, at the urging of the veterans service organizations, amended the Act of 1938 by striking out the word “Armistice” and inserting in its place the word “Veterans.” With the approval of this legislation (Public Law 380) on June 1, 1954, November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

Later that same year, on October 8th, President Dwight D. Eisenhower issued the first “Veterans Day Proclamation” which stated: “In order to insure proper and widespread observance of this anniversary, all veterans, all veterans’ organizations, and the entire citizenry will wish to join hands in the common purpose. Toward this end, I am designating the Administrator of Veterans’ Affairs as Chairman of a Veterans Day National Committee, which shall include such other persons as the Chairman may select, and which will coordinate at the national level necessary planning for the observance. I am also requesting the heads of all departments and agencies of the Executive branch of the Government to assist the National Committee in every way possible.”

On that same day, President Eisenhower sent a letter to the Honorable Harvey V. Higley, Administrator of Veterans’ Affairs (VA), designating him as Chairman of the Veterans Day National Committee.

In 1958, the White House advised VA’s General Counsel that the 1954 designation of the VA Administrator as Chairman of the Veterans Day National Committee applied to all subsequent VA Administrators. Since March 1989 when VA was elevated to a cabinet level department, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs has served as the committee’s chairman.

The Uniform Holiday Bill (Public Law 90-363 (82 Stat. 250) was signed on June 28, 1968, and was intended to ensure three-day weekends for Federal employees by celebrating four national holidays on Mondays: Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Columbus Day. It was thought that these extended weekends would encourage travel, recreational and cultural activities and stimulate greater industrial and commercial production. Many states did not agree with this decision and continued to celebrate the holidays on their original dates.

The first Veterans Day under the new law was observed with much confusion on October 25, 1971. It was quite apparent that the commemoration of this day was a matter of historic and patriotic significance to a great number of our citizens, and so on September 20th, 1975, President Gerald R. Ford signed Public Law 94-97 (89 Stat. 479), which returned the annual observance of Veterans Day to its original date of November 11, beginning in 1978. This action supported the desires of the overwhelming majority of state legislatures, all major veterans service organizations and the American people.

Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. The restoration of the observance of Veterans Day to November 11 not only preserves the historical significance of the date, but helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. So, not just this Veterans Day, but every day, thank a Veteran for their service, and buy them a meal, because they’ve given us so much that can never be repaid.

Who Can Not Be President?

In the Republican Presidential Debate Thursday night, a certain candidate stated that if Iran wanted a nuke, then they could have one.

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) would condemned both the United States and Israel to a nuclear attack is he were President. He claims that Iran simply wants it for their defense but apparently Ron Paul doesn’t understand what Iran means by the word “defense”. So, it’s time to not only educate Ron Paul, but his followers as well as to what Ron Paul would be doing if he were President.

Iranian Basij Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naghdi wants Israel destroyed. Naghdi has claimed that protecting Iran’s security is dependent upon wiping the “Zionist region” “off the map.” In response to Rezaiinejad’s death, Naghdi allegedly said:

“The main plot for this criminal act was conceived by the American government, and since it is scared of the reaction by the Muslim world due to the uprisings in the region, it had the Zionist regime commit the heinous act…we have no option but to have the Zionist regime wiped off the map.”

Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has claimed many times that he wants Israel wiped off the face of the map. He also believes in the 12th Imam and that only mass blood shed and chaos will bring about the 12th Imam faster. If Iran was given a nuke, with it’s President and top military leaders saying that Israel should be wiped off the face of the map, calling them the Little Satan and us the Big Satan, who exactly do you think they are going to use the nuke on. They do not want it for defense but rather to start a war and eliminate their enemies.

Many would claim that this would never happen on the premise of Mutually Assured Destruction that was used during the Cold War. But the radical musliums who wants both Israel and ourselves dead aren’t afraid to die. They believe that Allah is calling for them to die while killing infidels. If they are not afraid to strap a bomb to their chest and kill their own family members and call it a honor killing, then how can we feel safe knowing that they will have no reservations to launch that nuke at us. Iran has already reached a deal for a missile base in Venezuela and has stated that this is because if sanctions were placed upon them, they would see it as a declaration of war. Iran gets a nuke and we will have another situation much like we did with the Soviet Union during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

This also after a lawsuit has been filed by 9/11 victims families against Iran as evidence has come out that Iran was involved in the 9/11 attacks. If Iran was involved in a tragic attack like 9/11, just imagine what they could and would do with a nuke. We are dealing with people who mean it when they say that they are going to kill you. But Ron Paul and his followers fail to see the dangers of Iran getting a nuke. There are 3 major reasons radical muslims hate us, we have military in their area, we are allies with Israel, and the fact that their religion says to kill the infidels. This is why Ron Paul can not be President and shouldn’t even be in this country. He is willing to sacrifice our safety because he is ignorant of what Iran would do with a nuke. So to Ron Paul and his followers, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE TEA.

The Financial Crisis

With the financial crisis we’re currently in, it would take more than 1 blog post to get through it all. But, in 1 post, you can hit on the primary points and the major issues. Over the past few months, we’ve watched as President Obama presented a budget that would triple the deficit and then we would start making very minimal cuts. In this budget, the main point of Obama was that we would be cutting about $100 million. With a budget of about $3.5 trillion, that cut only came out to .0029% of the budget. Thus the debate began about the budget and the impending doom of the country.

With this debate came the idea that a government shutdown could happen. For many in the country, a government shutdown wasn’t a bad thing. But the politicians, mostly Democrats, began making horror stories about what would happen if a government shutdown were to happen. We heard how people would die and how the troops wouldn’t be paid. Firstly, people wouldn’t die. Secondly, the troops would be paid as they had been in the past 2 government shutdowns, the only person who could stop them from getting paid is President Obama. During the elections, we were promised multiple times that the Republicans would make $100 billion in cuts. Within a week of the debate starting, that number dropped to $61 billion. The people weren’t happy but like usual the politicians didn’t listen. After another week of debates, the deadline for the government shutdown was getting closer and closer and the talks between Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) and Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) had begun. After a few days of nothing coming from their talks, President Obama stepped in. In an attempt to be the President who stopped the government shutdown, only $38 billion was cut.

After the deal had been made, many dived into what exactly was being cut. When you get down to the true cuts, it comes out like this:

Congressional Budget Office (CBO) says the “deal” cuts $352M in spending.

Government spends $6.85M per minute. $352M / $6.85M = 51 minutes. So the deal effectively cuts 51 minutes of federal government spending over the next six months.

The average American family spends $49,067 per year. That’s 9.3 cents per minute. 51 mins. x 9.3 cents = $4.76

So what our genius Congress is agreeing to is the same as if the average family was in grave fiscal danger and came together and agreed to cut $4.76 of spending out of their budget for the next six months. That’s 79.3 cents per month!

With only $352 million in cuts, Congress proclaimed they had saved the country from a government shutdown. With the public debt hitting $14.3 trillion and the debt subject to the limit, the debt ceiling, being $14.25 trillion, Congress decided to go on a 2 week vacation. On the Friday before Congress comes back, the debt subject to the limit is expected to hit that $14.3 trillion debt ceiling.

So, since the election, the “new” Congress has given some things to congratulate them on, but in the end they did business as usual, screw the American people. Meanwhile, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) came forth with a plan called “The Path to Prosperity” to cut $6.2 trillion from the President’s spending over the next 10 years, reduces the debt as a percentage of the economy, brings federal spending to below 20% of gross domestic product (GDP), consistent with the postwar average, and reduces deficits by $4.4 trillion. This purposed plan will be done by reducing spending, welfare reform, health and retirement security, budget enforcement, and tax reform.

Although Ryan’s plan isn’t going to stop the hole that we are in, it is a step. We can not let Congress or the President continue to treat the financial crisis like it is only a bug on the window. The financial crisis is in fact a whale on the window. We must scan every plan brought forth with diligence and make sure a so-called $38 billion cut isn’t an actual $352 million cut. We have already seen that those we elected have faltered and given into the demands of those who are working to destroy our country. We must fight back and demand that Congress WAKES UP AND SMELLS THE TEA.

Memorial Day

This weekend is Memorial Day. Now before I get off on how our President isn’t going to honor this day, I want to a special thanks to all the men and women who risk their lives every day for 300,000,000 strangers every day. Also a special thanks to their families and to the families and service members of those who’s loved ones didn’t make it home. It is for these people who we fight for freedom and liberty here at home. Now for the history of Memorial Day.

After the Civil War, many communities set aside a day to remember those who had died in the war. On May 5, 1866, and each year after, it got its first real observance in Waterloo, New York. On May 5, 1868, in his capacity as commander-in-chief of the Grand Army of the Republic, a veterans’ organization, General John A. Logan issued a proclamation that “Decoration Day” be observed nationwide. It was observed for the first time on May 30 of the same year; the date was chosen because it was not the anniversary of a battle.

Many of the states of the U.S. South refused to celebrate Decoration Day, due to lingering hostility towards the Union Army and also because there were relatively few veterans of the Union Army who were buried in the South. A notable exception was Columbus, Mississippi, which on April 25, 1866, at its Decoration Day commemorated both the Union and Confederate casualties buried in its cemetery.

The alternative name of “Memorial Day” was first used in 1882. It did not become more common until after World War II, and was not declared the official name by Federal law until 1967. On June 28, 1968, the United States Congress passed the Uniform Holidays Bill, which moved three holidays from their traditional dates to a specified Monday in order to create a convenient three-day weekend. The holidays included Washington’s Birthday, now celebrated as Presidents’ Day; Veterans Day and Memorial Day. The change moved Memorial Day from its traditional May 30 date to the last Monday in May. The law took effect at the federal level in 1971.

Now every President in the past has gone to Arlington Cemetary on Memorial Day. But now President Obama has decided to take a vacation and a tour of the oil spill on this sacred day. Once again he thumbs his nose at the military and disrespect them, their families, and all in this land that they died for. This is not the act of an American President but the act of a Progressive President who doesn’t believe in America but believes in a one world government.
